Under floor heating suppliers
William Beard flooring don’t fit under floor heating ourselves, but we know a company who does, who we use whenever we require them.
Under floor heating has become a hugely popular way of heating a space.
Whilst being a fantastic, environmentally sound choice, UFH systems create their own set of technical considerations when choosing and installing the right final floor covering. UFH can stress engineered flooring far more than the usual climatic variations that it would be exposed to under normal conditions in this country.
That is why we produce engineered European Oak and American Black Walnut products that have been specifically designed to work on all waterborne UFH systems and some high quality electric systems. Our UFH planks are laminated using the tried and tested, traditional cold press method as opposed to the heat sensitive, far Eastern, hot press method which is prone to issues on UFH. Our plank is made from a single layer of the finest quality, furniture grade, European manufactured, Birch plywood. Once machined the planks go through a further conditioning process to prepare them for being laid over UFH and to ensure that they remain stable throughout.
When either supplied and installed by us or using our specified products and guidelines this product carries our 20 year structural guarantee for residential projects and 10 year commercial. This genuine guarantee is significantly more re-assuring and tangible than the bog standard “suitable for under floor heating” phrase that accompanies most engineered flooring sales. This is usually accompanied, in small print, with a long and un-realistic list of caveats and conditions providing almost no accountability to the seller should a problem occur.
The sad truth is that roughly 90 – 95% of all flooring sold as suitable, should not be laid on UFH and has an extremely high risk of problems being experienced.
Common problems include; adverse movement – cupping and crowning, excessive shrinkage, de-veneering of the wear layer or de-bonding of the plywood. Our product is guaranteed against all of these!
We regularly work with a wonderful company Terra Therma Ltd. They are truly UFH experts and have an extensive range of UFH systems available to suit all sub-floors and scenarios. They also provide solutions for renewable energy requirements.
We would strongly recommend that you deal with a professional specialised company like Terra Therma Ltd for your UFH and our floor on any of Terra Therma Ltd Systems would be accompanied by a full 20 year residential guarantee covering both the UFH system and our flooring.
